About

Kings Canyon, California
Torres del Paine, Chile

You are an aperture through which the universe is looking at and exploring itself.

I was born in Apache Country in present day Big Spring, Texas on September 13, 1976.  As the doctor weighed me at 10 lbs. and 11 oz., neither my mother or my father knew where my life would take me.

I grew up in the San Joaquin Valley near Fresno, California in a small town named Kingsburg.  I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2000 with a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Health and Exercise Science. After several road trips across the Southwest I became hooked on nature, addicted to seeing the places I can only imagine through maps and pictures.

I lived in Fresno for 3 years while going back to school to become a Medical Imaging Technologist, spending summers backpacking alone.  Although Fresno has the 3rd worst air quality in the state, it is the only place in California with 3 major highways that run deep into the Gems of the High Sierra-Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Travelling 3 hours once a week to attend school, I developed my art on the road and in the mountains.

I'm an amateur botanist, geologist and astronomer. Please email me if you are interested in a guided trip anywhere in the Sierra Nevada.

I currently live in Central California.
